IPC  Indian Consumer & Mobile manufacturing Industry

The Indian consumer electronics market is expected to be valued at $124.94 billion by 2030, witnessing a CAGR of 6.5% between 2023 and 2030. Affordability & quality will remain one of the key factors in the increase. The surge in demand for affordable gadgets has led manufacturers to invest in research and development, allowing them to present innovative, cost-effective solutions to the market. The Indian White Goods market is poised to flourish, with expectations of reaching a staggering USD 18100 billion by 2030. Currently valued at USD 11788.81 million, the white goods market in India experiences significant growth, driven by rising disposable incomes and improved lifestyles, fueling heightened demand for these products.
India’s capacity to manufacture for the world has been demonstrated across four major segments – mobile phones, consumer electronics, IT hardware and electronic components – that account for over 70% of India’s domestic manufacturing profile. Global firms can readily leverage these domestic capabilities to achieve supply chain diversification and scale up production by manufacturing in India.

IPC  IPC Initiative

It is important for manufacturers to invest in research and development in the manufacturing process & entire supply chain. Reliability & quality in the manufacturing process will remain one of the key factors in staying ahead of the curve.

IPC with support from Industry, is studying the ways to improvise “Standards” applicable for design & manufacturing process in the assembly of printed circuit boards used in building mobile & consumer electronics devices, gadgets & appliances.

Through an industry committee drawn from consumer electronics – OEM & EMS, the members are examining and identifying root causes of quality issues. Preliminary survey has been organized in 15 companies and further survey to be organized for 200+ companies in India.
